PHILANTHROPUNKS 2025 GRANT RECIPIENTS
CLEANGREENE15: Awarded £1000
CleanGreenE15 is a community gardening project in Maryland, Newham E15 which was set up by local residents in 2022. It was set up improve and green the local high street and bring colour and nature to what was a neglected and unloved area.
The Project: “Colours and Signs- Increasing Visual Impact and Access for All”
The project will continue to develop and maintain the site, to support ongoing resident-led gardening in the local area: to make the site even more inclusive and visually appealing for children, families and young people with learning and other communication needs.
This will include inclusive signage on a garden theme to support and promote communication and engagement of children with additional learning and communication needs, sign-along signs showing how to sign garden-related words, braille signage to introduce the project and its aims. and other visually appealing elements including paint, blossom trees, and flowering plants.
FRIENDS OF WEST HAM PARK: Awarded £500
The Friends of West Ham Park are a long established, local community group which supports West Ham park and helps all sections of the community it serves to enjoy the many resources the park has to offer. All the events and activities the Friends of West Ham Park promote and run are based on equality, inclusivity, sustainability, openness and friendliness which are the values they seek to see reflected in the local community
The Project: “ParkFest ‘25”
ParkFest 25 is a new event that is planning to run on July 13th 2025 and hopefully annually. It builds on the success of an event in July 2024 which celebrated the 150th anniversary of the opening of the park. The event will be free and aimed at all sections of the local community as a family based celebration of the park with music, workshops, refreshments and sports coaching. It will be focussed around community enjoyment and unity through shared enjoyment of music and entertainment.
