WHO ARE YOU RAISING MONEY FOR IN 2025?
This year we’re raising money so we can donate small grants to charities and/or community groups in Newham, London through a simple application process. An expression of interest is open on this website and will close on 02.06.2025.
HOW IS THE MONEY CALCULATED?
All money in and out is tracked during the year by our treasurer, and is kept in a separate charity bank account. Any expenses out of the account are purely for providing items or logistics that will aid the fundraising events in taking place. All remaining money is donated.
WHAT ARE THE GRANT TERMS AND CONDITIONS?

Grant Name: Newham Community Grant

1. Purpose of the Grant
This grant aims to support organisations that promote social equality and inclusion in alignment with PhilanthroPunks’ values. Funding must be used to advance initiatives that foster community empowerment, sustainability, and diversity.
2. Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be an individual, community group, or nonprofit aligned with one or more of the PhilanthroPunks values through their project.
Operate within Newham.
Demonstrate alignment with punk values of self-expression, equity, and grassroots action in the community.
Provide a detailed proposal outlining the project and its intended impact following a successful expression of interest.
3. Application Process
Complete and submit the expression of interest application form by 2nd June 2025.
If successful at this stage, you will be asked to share supporting documents such as financial reports, a project plan, and constitution.
Shortlisted applicants may be invited for interviews or presentations.
Final decisions will be communicated by 2nd July 2025.
4. Grant Amount & Disbursement
The grant award will be up to £500 or up to £1000, and paid to the recipient in one payment to the organisations registered bank account.
5. Fund Usage Restrictions
Grant funds may only be used for the purposes outlined in the approved proposal, including:
Community-building activities.
Education and awareness programmes.
Operational costs relevant to project execution. Funds may not be used for personal expenses, unrelated business ventures, or activities inconsistent with legal and ethical standards.
6. Reporting & Compliance
Grantees must submit reports detailing expenditure and project progress if requested to do so.
PhilanthroPunks reserves the right to request additional documentation or conduct audits.
Non-compliance upon request may result in funding revocation.
7. Termination & Revocation
PhilanthroPunks may terminate the grant if:
The grantee fails to meet reporting obligations.
Funds are misused or allocated outside permitted purposes.
Activities contradict the values of the organization.
8. Legal Considerations
This grant is subject to UK charity laws and financial regulations. Recipients must adhere to all statutory obligations, including tax reporting where applicable.
9. Acknowledgment & Agreement
By accepting this grant, the recipient agrees to the terms outlined above. A formal agreement must be signed before funds are disbursed.
