PhilanthroPunks was started in 2017 by Ali as a way to raise funds in aid of a non-goverment funded homeless charity - GlassDoor. The first year of PhilanthroPunks raised £732 through punk gigs in London featuring bands such as Scrotum Clamp and The Resuscitators.
In 2018, Ali was joined by Mike to help grow the organisation and support with venues and bookings, bringing the total fundraising to £2800 by the end of 2019. Despite lockdown in 2020, PhilanthroPunks activities continued, raising money through online streamed gigs and sales from shirts in order to ensure the charity was supported during this difficult period.
NOW WE WANT TO BE REALLY AMBITIOUS.
The PhilanthroPunks team has grown again with Katie joining to support with fundraising and charity knowledge to help tackle the growing ambition of PhilanthroPunks.
